How the Firefighters roster is built

A Banana Ball roster does not look like a Major League roster, and it is not supposed to. Every player on the Firefighters has two jobs: play a competitive nine-inning game under the Banana Ball rules — two-hour clock, no bunting, no walks, fans catching foul balls for outs — and perform. Dance breaks, walk-up choreography, trick plays and crowd work are rehearsed like a touring show, because that is what the league is. The official rosters Banana Ball publishes each January list the players who made that cut, and the table above tracks who is actually appearing in the 2026 stats feed.

Former pros

The core of most Banana Ball rosters is players who were good enough to be paid to play somewhere else first: minor-league and independent-league veterans, college standouts who went undrafted, and the occasional former first-round pick. Party Animals star Jake Skole was a 2010 Texas Rangers first-rounder before he won the 2025 Banana Ball Triple Crown, and in 2026 the Indianapolis Clowns signed Jackie Bradley Jr., the first former major-leaguer to play Banana Ball full time. Minor-league alumni groups now track their former players on Banana Ball rosters the way they track call-ups.

College players and softball crossovers

The Savannah Bananas started life in 2016 as a college summer-league team, and that pipeline still matters. Many players arrive straight from Division I, II or NAIA programs, and since 2024 the league has added a steady stream of former Division I softball players — Kelsie Whitmore and Jocelyn Alo with the Bananas, Megan Wiggins with the Texas Tailgaters, among others — who hit and pitch alongside the men. The Firefighters are managed by Valerie Perez, a USA Baseball Women's National Team member who also plays.

Entertainers and specialists

Every team carries players whose primary value is the show. Dakota "Stilts" Albritton plays on stilts; Jackson Olson's dance routines earned him a spot on "Dancing with the Stars"; the Firefighters roster includes working firefighters like Mat Wolf. These players still take real at-bats and innings, which is why some names in the tables above have short stat lines and big followings.

Why the positions are loose

We group the Firefighters by the primary position the league lists, but Banana Ball players move around. Pitchers hit, position players pitch the ninth in a blowout, and anyone with a trick play in their pocket might end up in the outfield for a single batter. A player who has logged both at-bats and innings pitched shows up under "two-way and utility" here, and every row carries both a hitting line and, where applicable, a pitching line. The numbers come from the official Banana Ball stats API via our nightly import; a player who is traded or released stops updating and drops off after a week.

Reading the stat line

  • AVG / HR / RBI / OPS — standard hitting stats for the 2026 season, regular-season and preseason games combined as the league reports them.
  • ERA / W-L / SV / IP — the pitching line for anyone who has thrown a pitch this year.
  • # — jersey number as listed on the official roster; a dash means the feed has not published one.

For the same numbers across all six teams, see Banana Ball player stats and team stats. The Firefighters' record, next games and season storylines are on the Firefighters team page, and every date is on the Firefighters schedule.

Firefighters roster FAQ

Who is on the Firefighters roster in 2026?

The live 2026 Firefighters roster on this page lists 26 players grouped by position — catchers, infielders, outfielders and pitchers — each linked to a player page with their full stat line. The list is refreshed from the official Banana Ball stats feed, so trades and call-ups appear within a day.

How many players do the Firefighters carry?

Banana Ball teams carry larger rosters than a typical 26-man MLB roster because players rotate through a 50-game touring schedule and also perform between innings. The Firefighters currently list 26 players in the stats feed, 12 of whom have pitched this season.

Who is the best hitter on the Firefighters?

By OPS among players with at least 20 at-bats, Noah Bridges leads the Firefighters at 1.000 with 2 home runs and 24 RBI. The full leaderboard is in the hitting leaders table above.

Are Firefighters players former pros?

Many are. Banana Ball rosters mix former minor-league and independent-league players, college standouts, a handful of former major-leaguers (Jackie Bradley Jr. of the Indianapolis Clowns was the first full-time one in 2026), former Division I softball players, and entertainers whose job is the between-innings show. Each player page shows their baseball history when the league has published it.

Where do Firefighters players come from?

Hometowns are listed for 23 of the 26 players on this page, drawn from the bios Banana Ball publishes. Open any player page for age, hometown, school and baseball history.
