Who are the Loco Beach Coconuts?
Banana Ball introduced the Loco Beach Coconuts on October 9, 2025, alongside the revived Indianapolis Clowns, as part of the expansion that took the Banana Ball Championship League to six teams for 2026. Jesse Cole described them as the most fun, unique and crazy brand the organization had built: a beach-party team with tropical uniforms, two mascots — Coco the Coconut and Peter Colada — and a mission to bring coastal vibes to whichever stadium they visit.
"Loco Beach" is not a real town. Unlike the Texas Tailgaters or the Indianapolis Clowns, the Coconuts were not built around a geographic market; the name is a brand, the team is operated out of Savannah, Georgia like every other Banana Ball club, and the league has not attached it to any specific city. If you are searching for Loco Beach on a map, you will not find it — the beach travels with the team.
Loco Beach Coconuts coaching and roster
Head coach Mark Crocco runs the club. Before Banana Ball he spent eight seasons at Erskine College in South Carolina, building a Division II program with more than 225 wins and seven straight winning seasons, and he most recently coached the Visitors, Banana Ball's developmental team, before taking the Coconuts job.
Shane Victorino, the "Flyin' Hawaiian," is the primetime coach. A two-time All-Star with the Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox, he won World Series titles in 2008 and 2013 and collected multiple Gold Gloves; in Banana Ball he manages the marquee games and leads the team's "island pride" identity year-round. Loco Beach Coconuts style of play
For an expansion team, the Coconuts hit. Through mid-August 2026 they led the entire league with 183 points scored and had racked up 466 successful trick plays, per Savannah Bananas On SI, which had them third in the standings at 26-24 and described them as the team "easiest to overlook in this race" — and warned that overlooking them would be a mistake. Loco Beach Coconuts 2026 season
The Coconuts' debut season includes some of the biggest stages on the 2026 tour. They play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World on May 29–30, visit the Jersey Shore in June with the Party Animals, meet the Texas Tailgaters at Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio on June 26–27, headline a stop in Delaware, and close the regular season against the Savannah Bananas at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on August 29.
Four teams make the October playoffs — the Banana Ball Open champion Texas Tailgaters plus the top finishers by winning percentage — and the first Banana Bowl is Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., streaming on Disney+ and the Banana Ball YouTube channel.
