What is the Banana Bowl?
The Banana Bowl is the championship game of the Banana Ball Championship League. Two teams come out of the October playoffs and play one Banana Ball game — two hours, nine innings, one point per inning, Showdown if it is tied — for the first BBCL title. The Savannah Bananas announced the venue on Tuesday, August 18, 2026: Nationals Park, the home of the Washington Nationals, on Saturday, October 10.
The league is framing the night as more than a ballgame. In its announcement it pointed to America's 250th anniversary and said it was bringing "all of Banana Nation together" in the nation's capital for the first time. All six teams and casts will be in the building, with special guests, surprise appearances, team entrances and what the league calls a first-of-its-kind arrival experience for fans. The evening closes with the "Final Inning Show," which the league describes as the largest musical performance in Banana Ball history, performed by the full cast to original Banana Ball music.
It is also a first for the sport in a structural sense. Banana Ball's only previous championship, in October 2025, was a tournament at the Bananas' own Grayson Stadium in Savannah, and the Party Animals won it by beating the Firefighters 4-0 in the final. The Banana Bowl moves the final to a neutral 41,000-seat major-league park and gives it a name, a date and a stage of its own — the league's version of a Super Bowl.
Banana Bowl tickets
Like every Banana Ball game, the Bowl was sold by lottery rather than a public on-sale. The league ran it on a dedicated Fans First Tickets site, bananabowl26.fansfirsttickets.com. Entries opened with the August 18 announcement and closed at 11:55 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Drawings began on Monday, August 24; winning entrants are emailed an offer with a buying window, and the league has said every entry submitted before the deadline has an equal chance. Entrants had to be at least 16 years old and residents of the United States, Canada or Mexico.
The league has not published Banana Bowl prices; winners see pricing when their offer arrives. Banana Ball sells its own tickets without added fees, and regular tour tickets have typically started around $35, but we cannot confirm the Bowl uses the same scale.
Missed the lottery?
- Check the official channels first. The league sometimes releases additional seats after a drawing or closer to an event. bananaball.com/tickets and the Banana Ball social accounts are where that would appear, and the league's help center (help.bananaball.com) answers ticket questions directly.
- Be careful on resale. Lottery winners can legitimately resell, but a 41,000-seat first-ever championship will attract listings that do not exist. Only buy from a platform that guarantees the ticket, never pay by wire or gift card, and be suspicious of anything listed before drawings even finished.
- Watch the game instead. It streams on Disney+ and free on YouTube — see below. And the October playoffs are a separate event with their own access.

How to watch the Banana Bowl
The Banana Bowl streams live on Disney+ and on the Banana Ball YouTube channel. Disney's 2026 agreement with the league, announced in February, covers a 25-game package on the ESPN App and Disney+ with select games on ESPN networks and ABC, and Disney confirmed the Banana Bowl as part of that expanded partnership. The league has not announced a linear TV network for the Bowl as of late August; if ESPN or ABC picks it up we will add it here. Nationals Park guide
Address: 1500 South Capitol Street SE, Washington, D.C. 20003, in the Navy Yard neighborhood on the Anacostia riverfront. The park opened in March 2008, seats 41,373, and is owned by the District through Events DC.
- Metro: Navy Yard–Ballpark station on the Green Line is one block from the center-field gate. On a Saturday night with a sellout crowd, the train is the easiest way in and out; Anacostia, Waterfront and L'Enfant Plaza are the neighboring Green Line stops if the platform is packed after the game.
- Driving: Parking around Nationals Park is garage- and lot-based and usually pre-sold for big events; check the Nationals' parking and event pages once the Bowl is listed rather than counting on street parking in Navy Yard.
- Gates and bags: Bag rules, gate times and payment policies are set by the stadium, so read the Nationals Park A-to-Z guide before you travel. Banana Ball events usually open gates early with pregame entertainment on the field, and the league has promised a special arrival experience for this one, so plan to be there well before 7 p.m.
- Weather: The game is listed rain or shine. Mid-October evenings in D.C. are typically cool; bring a layer.

What to expect on the night
Expect a Banana Ball game first. Whoever reaches the Bowl will have come through a playoff, and the 2025 final — a 4-0 shutout with seven innings from one starter — showed these games can be tight, pitching-led contests under the two-hour clock. The points system means a team can trail on runs and lead on the scoreboard, the ninth inning scores every run, and if it is level at the end the Showdown settles it one-on-one. Brush up on the rules before you go.
Around the game, the league has promised the full pregame show, every team's cast and dance crews, surprise guests, and the Final Inning Show to close. If you have been to a Banana Ball tour stop, picture that at three times the size with the season on the line. If you haven't, the remaining 2026 schedule still has games across the country through September.
