What to watch down the stretch
The regular season runs to September 27, and with six teams and one automatic bid already spoken for, the race is really for the places behind Texas. Three things decide it.
The cut line
Right now the line sits between Party Animals (25-27) in fourth and The Firefighters (24-28) in fifth, 1 game apart. Because the table is ordered by winning percentage, a team with games in hand can move without playing: watch the "Left" column as much as the record.
The tiebreakers
The mid-August table had two teams level at 23-26, and with a 50-game schedule more ties are likely. Head-to-head comes first — the grid above — and then total trick plays, which the standings page tracks. A team that loses its season series to the club it is tied with needs to finish a game clear, not level.
The schedule
The closing weeks put several BBCL teams in big venues — the official schedule's final weekend includes Globe Life Field in Arlington and Progressive Field in Cleveland on September 25–27 — and the matchups between teams around the line are effectively four-point swings. Every remaining game is on the schedule, and the Banana Ball Reminder app will notify you before each one.
What is not decided by the table
Seeding, the bracket and the playoff dates. The league has listed an October 1 multi-team event at Grayson Stadium and originally slated the playoffs for October 1–4 in Savannah, but has not published the bracket or confirmed the format. The championship game is set: the Banana Bowl, October 10 at Nationals Park. Background on the whole structure is on the playoff format page, and on the BBCL hub.
