About Dalton Cornett
Dalton Cornett is the Firefighters' catcher and one of the most reliable clutch hitters in Banana Ball. He comes from Pippa Passes in eastern Kentucky, starred at Knott County Central High School and was an All-American and NCCAA Mideast Region Player of the Year at Alice Lloyd College.
Cornett's pro career started in the Pioneer League with the Billings Mustangs in 2021, followed by an Atlantic League stint with the Lexington-based Kentucky Wild Health Genomes in 2022 and a season of winter ball in Puerto Rico. Jesse Cole recruited him to Banana Ball, and he spent his first three seasons with the Party Animals before moving to the Firefighters.
He made his reputation in big moments. On opening weekend of the 2023 Banana Ball World Tour he led off the ninth with a go-ahead home run for the Party Animals, and in 2025 a walk-off home run in a Showdown sent the Firefighters to the Tour Championship game — the hit that won him the Banana Ball Moment of the Year award. Off the field he owns DC3, a baseball equipment and apparel company whose gloves have been used in MLB games.
In 2026, his second season with the Firefighters, Cornett wears No. 3, catches most nights and has hit above .300 with 20-plus RBI through August.
