About Kyle Jackson
Kyle "KJ" Jackson is the player most fans picture when they think of the 2026 Savannah Bananas. Born April 19, 2002 in Bowling Green, Ohio, he starred at Bowling Green High School as a shortstop and center fielder, earning First Team All-Ohio honors and the Northern Lakes League Player of the Year award before the pandemic wiped out his senior season.
He played four seasons at Kent State (2020–2024), where the Golden Flashes used him at shortstop, third base and in the outfield. Jackson finished his college career with a .275 average, 23 home runs, 98 RBI and 123 runs, and made the MAC All-Tournament Team during Kent State's 2023 conference title run. He majored in sports psychology with a minor in theater performance, which turned out to be a perfect résumé for Banana Ball.
Jackson's first taste of the organization came while he was still in school, when he played a handful of games for the Bananas' touring opponents. After graduating in 2024 he joined the Savannah roster full time, kept his college No. 4, and quickly became the team's breakout performer: acrobatic plays on the left side of the infield, choreographed dances with teammates, constant fan interaction and a knack for clutch hits. In 2025 he turned a triple play that went viral, fans voted to keep him on the roster, and by April 2026 his social following had passed 1.4 million.
In the 2026 Banana Ball Championship League season he has been one of Savannah's most productive bats, hitting well over .300 with an OPS above 1.000 through the summer while starting at third base.
