About Mo'ne Davis
Mo'ne Davis is the most famous name to put on an Indianapolis Clowns uniform since the team was revived. The Philadelphia native became a national story in August 2014 when, pitching for the Taney Dragons, she became the first girl to win a game and throw a shutout in the Little League World Series.
She attended Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and then Hampton University, where she played Division I softball for the Lady Pirates from 2019 to 2022. In November 2025 the new Women's Pro Baseball League took her 10th overall in its inaugural draft, assigning her to the Los Angeles team as a center fielder.
On April 9, 2026, the Banana Ball Championship League announced that Davis had signed with the Clowns — a franchise with Negro Leagues roots that is managed by former Phillies star Ryan Howard as its prime-time coach. She is listed as a right-handed pitcher and outfielder and wears No. 29. The signing came as the Clowns were opening their first season in Charleston, South Carolina, and it made her one of the most prominent women in Banana Ball alongside Kelsie Whitmore, who signed with Savannah in 2025.
Her Banana Ball debut came as a reliever: she walked to the mound to a standing ovation and got a groundout to end the game. Her role with the Clowns is that of a guest player making select appearances rather than an everyday starter, so her stat line above reflects a handful of innings.
