About Kyle Martin

Kyle Martin is the power bat of the Texas Tailgaters and the home run leader of the 2026 Banana Ball Championship League. A Greenville, South Carolina native, he came to Banana Ball after a long run in professional baseball that included affiliated and independent stops.

Martin played 79 games for the El Paso Chihuahuas, the San Diego Padres' Triple-A affiliate, in 2022, hitting 17 home runs. Around that he spent several seasons in the independent American Association with the Winnipeg Goldeyes and Cleburne Railroaders (2019–2021 and 2025) and played for the York Revolution of the Atlantic League in 2025.

The Tailgaters, Banana Ball's first regional team, list him on their 2026 roster at first base and in the outfield. He joined them for their BBCL debut wearing No. 27, playing first base and the outfield, and immediately became the most dangerous hitter in the league. By mid-May he already owned the record for most home runs in Banana Ball history, and he added another on May 16, 2026, in the first Banana Ball game ever played in El Paso — at Southwest University Park, the same field where he played for the Chihuahuas.
